Abstract

We investigate the GRB formation rate based on the relation between the spectral peak energy ( $E_{p}$ ) and the isotropic luminosity. The $E_{p}$ --luminosity relation covers the energy range of 50 -- 2000 keV and the luminosity range of $1 0^{50}$ -- $1 0^{54} er g / s, r es p ec t i v e l y . W e f in d t ha tt h er e l a t i o ni sco n s i d er ab l y t i g h t er t han s imi l a r r e l a t i o n ss ug g es t e d p r e v i o u s l y . This behavior is consistent with the results of previous works using the lag--luminosity relation or the variability--luminosity relation.
