Quantum natural gradient generalised to noisy and non-unitary circuits
Bálint Koczor, Simon C. Benjamin
Variational quantum algorithms are promising tools whose efficacy depends on their optimisation method. For noise-free unitary circuits, the quantum generalisation of natural gradi…
Resource Estimation for Quantum Variational Simulations of the Hubbard Model
Zhenyu Cai
As the advances in quantum hardware bring us into the noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) era, one possible task we can perform without quantum error correction using NISQ mach…
Mitigating Coherent Noise Using Pauli Conjugation
Zhenyu Cai, Xiaosi Xu, Simon C. Benjamin
Coherent noise can be much more damaging than incoherent (probabilistic) noise in the context of quantum error correction. One solution is to use twirling to turn coherent noise in…
A Silicon Surface Code Architecture Resilient Against Leakage Errors
Zhenyu Cai, Michael A. Fogarty, Simon Schaal +3
Spin qubits in silicon quantum dots are one of the most promising building blocks for large scale quantum computers thanks to their high qubit density and compatibility with the ex…
