General relativistic effects on the orbit of the S2 star with GRAVITY
M. Grould, F. H. Vincent, T. Paumard +1
The goal of this paper is to investigate the detection by GRAVITY of different relativistic effects affecting the astrometric and/or spectroscopic observations of S2 such as the tr…
Comparing timelike geodesics around a Kerr black hole and a boson star
M. Grould, Z. Meliani, F. H. Vincent +2
The second-generation beam combiner at the Very Large Telescope (VLT), GRAVITY, observes the stars orbiting the compact object located at the center of our galaxy, with an unpreced…
First Light for GRAVITY: Phase Referencing Optical Interferometry for the Very Large Telescope Interferometer
GRAVITY Collaboration, R. Abuter, M. Accardo +130
GRAVITY is a new instrument to coherently combine the light of the European Southern Observatory Very Large Telescope Interferometer to form a telescope with an equivalent 130 m di…
Testing the validity of the ray-tracing code GYOTO
Marion Grould, Thibaut Paumard, Guy Perrin
In the next few years, the near-infrared interferometer GRAVITY will be able to observe the Galactic center. Astrometric data will be obtained with an anticipated accuracy of 10 $μ…
