Mechanical design of the optical modules intended for IceCube-Gen2
Yuya Makino
IceCube-Gen2 is an expansion of the IceCube neutrino observatory at the South Pole that aims to increase the sensitivity to high-energy neutrinos by an order of magnitude. To this…
Electronics Design of the IceCube-Gen2 Optical Module Prototype
Sean Griffin
IceCube-Gen2 is a planned extension to the existing IceCube Neutrino Observatory and will provide an order of magnitude increase in the detection rate of cosmic neutrinos by deploy…
Performance studies on new 4" photomultiplier types intended for IceCube-Gen2 optical modules
Markus Dittmer, Alexander Kappes
In the upcoming IceCube-Gen2 extension, the newly developed optical modules will include 4-inch PMTs. For this purpose, the manufacturers Hamamatsu and North Night Vision Technolog…
Precision measurement of the index of refraction of deep glacial ice at radio frequencies at Summit Station, Greenland
J. A. Aguilar, P. Allison, D. Besson +71
Glacial ice is used as a target material for the detection of ultra-high energy neutrinos, by measuring the radio signals that are emitted when those neutrinos interact in the ice.…
