nIFTY galaxy cluster simulations III: The Similarity & Diversity of Galaxies & Subhaloes
Pascal J. Elahi, Alexander Knebe, Frazer R. Pearce +17
We examine subhaloes and galaxies residing in a simulated LCDM galaxy cluster () produced by hydrodynamical codes ranging from classic…
GHASP: an H kinematic survey of spiral galaxies - X. Surface photometry, decompositions and the Tully-Fisher relation in the Rc-band
C. E. Barbosa, C. Mendes de Oliveira, P. Amram +6
We present Rc-band surface photometry for 170 of the 203 galaxies in GHASP, Gassendi H-Alpha survey of SPirals, a sample of late-type galaxies for which high-resolution Fabry-Perot…
An extremely young massive clump forming by gravitational collapse in a primordial galaxy
A. Zanella, E. Daddi, E. Le Floc'h +9
When the cosmic star formation history peaks (z ~ 2), galaxies vigorously fed by cosmic reservoirs are gas dominated and contain massive star-forming clumps, thought to form by vio…
A Physical Approach to the Identification of High-z Mergers: Morphological Classification in the Stellar Mass Domain
Anna Cibinel, Emeric Le Floc'h, Valentin Perret +6
At z>1, the distinction between merging and 'normal' star-forming galaxies based on single band morphology is often hampered by the presence of large clumps which result in a distu…
