Measurement of South Pole ice transparency with the IceCube LED calibration system
IceCube Collaboration, M. G. Aartsen, R. Abbasi +272
The IceCube Neutrino Observatory, approximately 1 km^3 in size, is now complete with 86 strings deployed in the Antarctic ice. IceCube detects the Cherenkov radiation emitted by ch…
IceTop: The surface component of IceCube
IceCube Collaboration, R. Abbasi, Y. Abdou +280
IceTop, the surface component of the IceCube Neutrino Observatory at the South Pole, is an air shower array with an area of 1 km2. The detector allows a detailed exploration of the…
Background studies for acoustic neutrino detection at the South Pole
The IceCube Collaboration, R. Abbasi, Y. Abdou +262
The detection of acoustic signals from ultra-high energy neutrino interactions is a promising method to measure the tiny flux of cosmogenic neutrinos expected on Earth. The energy…
Calibration and Characterization of the IceCube Photomultiplier Tube
The IceCube Collaboration, R. Abbasi, Y. Abdou +256
Over 5,000 PMTs are being deployed at the South Pole to compose the IceCube neutrino observatory. Many are placed deep in the ice to detect Cherenkov light emitted by the products…
