An Eddington ratio-driven origin for the relation in quiescent and star forming active galaxies
Rosamaria Carraro, Francesco Shankar, Viola Allevato +5
A mild correlation exists in active galaxies between the mean black hole accretion, as traced by the mean X-ray luminosity , and the host galaxy stell…
Redshift, metallicity and size of two extended dwarf Irregular galaxies. A link between dwarf Irregulars and Ultra Diffuse Galaxies?
M. Bellazzini, V. Belokurov, L. Magrini +5
We present the results of the spectroscopic and photometric follow-up of two field galaxies that were selected as possible stellar counterparts of local high velocity clouds. Our a…
X-ray evidence for ultra-fast outflows in local AGNs
F. Tombesi, M. Cappi, R. M. Sambruna +4
X-ray evidence for ultra-fast outflows (UFOs) has been recently reported in a number of local AGNs through the detection of blue-shifted Fe XXV/XXVI absorption lines. We present th…
The HELLAS2XMM survey. V. Near-Infrared observations of X-ray sources with extreme X/O ratios
M. Mignoli, L. Pozzetti, A. Comastri +12
We present the results of deep near-infrared observations of 11 hard X-ray selected sources in the Hellas2XMM survey, with faint optical magnitude (R>24) and high X-ray-to-optical…
