High-resolution 21-cm observations of low-column density gas clumps in the Milky Way halo
N. Ben Bekhti, P. Richter, B. Winkel +2
We study the properties of low-column density gas clumps in the halo of the Milky Way based on high-resolution 21-cm observations. Using interferometric data from the WSRT and the…
Dark Matter in Gas-Rich Dwarf Galaxies
U. Klein, G. Gentile, P. Salucci +2
We investigate the distribution of dark matter (DM) in gas-rich, low-mass galaxies, confronting them with numerical cosmological simulations with cold dark matter (LCDM). We show t…
Kinematic modelling of disk galaxies I. A new method to fit tilted rings to data cubes
Gyula I. G. Jozsa, Franz Kenn, Uli Klein +1
This is the first of a series of papers in which the kinematics of disk galaxies over a range of scales is scrutinised employing spectroscopy. A fundamental aspect of these studies…
Neutral hydrogen in nearby elliptical and lenticular galaxies: the continuing formation of early-type galaxies
R. Morganti, P. T. de Zeeuw, T. A. Oosterloo +6
(Abridged) We present deep WSRT observations of neutral hydrogen in 12 nearby elliptical and lenticular galaxies. The selected objects come from a representative sample of nearby g…
