Large-scale and local environmental drivers of quenching: tracing H concentration in X-ray and optical galaxy groups
Stefania Barsanti, Di Wang, Matthew Colless +11
To explore the environmental mechanisms causing quenching in nearby star-forming galaxies, we study the variation with local and large-scale environments of a star formation concen…
The MAGPI Survey: the evolution and drivers of gas turbulence in intermediate-redshift galaxies
Yifan Mai, Scott M. Croom, Emily Wisnioski +21
We measure the ionised gas velocity dispersions of star-forming galaxies in the MAGPI survey () and compare them with galaxies in the SAMI () and KROSS ($z\sim…
Star formation concentration as a tracer of environmental quenching in action: a study of the Eagle and C-Eagle simulations
Di Wang, Claudia D. P. Lagos, Scott M. Croom +5
We study environmental quenching in the Eagle}/C-Eagle cosmological hydrodynamic simulations over the last 11 Gyr (i.e. ). The simulations are compared with observations fro…
The SAMI Galaxy Survey: Using concentrated star-formation and stellar population ages to understand environmental quenching
Di Wang, Scott M. Croom, Julia J. Bryant +16
We study environmental quenching using the spatial distribution of current star-formation and stellar population ages with the full SAMI Galaxy Survey. By using a star-formation co…
