On chip, high-sensitivity thermal sensor based on high-Q polydimethylsiloxane-coated microresonator
Bei-Bei Li, Qing-Yan Wang, Yun-Feng Xiao +4
A high-sensitivity thermal sensing is demonstrated by coating a layer of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) on the surface of a silica toroidal microresonator on a silicon wafer. Possessi…
High-Q exterior whispering gallery modes in a metal-coated microresonator
Yun-Feng Xiao, Chang-Ling Zou, Bei-Bei Li +4
We propose a kind of plasmonic whispering gallery modes highly localized on the exterior surface of a metal-coated microresonator. This exterior (EX) surface mode possesses high qu…
Broadband enhancement of light harvesting in luminescent solar concentrator
Yun-Feng Xiao, Chang-Ling Zou, Yi-Wen Hu +4
Luminescent solar concentrator (LSC) can absorb large-area incident sunlight, then emit luminescence with high quantum efficiency, which finally be collected by a small photovoltai…
Plasmon modes of silver nanowire on a silica substrate
C. -L. Zou, F. -W. Sun, Y. -F. Xiao +6
Plasmon mode in a silver nanowire is theoretically studied when the nanowire is placed on or near a silica substrate. It is found that the substrate has much influence on the plasm…
