Hubble and Spitzer Space Telescope Observations of the Debris Disk around the Nearby K Dwarf HD 92945
D. A. Golimowski, J. E. Krist, K. R. Stapelfeldt +9
[ABRIDGED] We present the first resolved images of the debris disk around the nearby K dwarf HD 92945. Our F606W (V) and F814W (I) HST/ACS coronagraphic images reveal an inclined,…
Abundant Circumstellar Silica Dust and SiO Gas Created by a Giant Hypervelocity Collision in the ~12 Myr HD172555 System
C. M. Lisse, C. H. Chen, M. C. Wyatt +4
The fine dust detected by IR emission around the nearby Beta Pic analogue star HD172555 is very peculiar. The dust mineralogy is composed primarily of highly refractory, non-equili…
New Debris Disks Around Young, Low Mass Stars Discovered With The Spitzer Space Telescope
Peter Plavchan, M. W. Werner, C. H. Chen +4
(abridged) We present 24 and 70 micron MIPS observations of 70 A through M-type dwarfs with estimated ages from 8 Myr to 1.1 Gyr, as part of a Spitzer guaranteed time program. Our…
