From AGI to ASI
Tim Genewein, Matija Franklin, Alexander Lerchner +11
Over the last decade, building human-level artificial general intelligence has moved from far-fetched speculation to being a concrete next-decade target for many of the largest AI…
Value Under Ignorance in Universal Artificial Intelligence
Cole Wyeth, Marcus Hutter
We generalize the AIXI reinforcement learning agent to admit a wider class of utility functions. Assigning a utility to each possible interaction history forces us to confront the…
Limit-Computable Grains of Truth for Arbitrary Computable Extensive-Form (Un)Known Games
Cole Wyeth, Marcus Hutter, Jan Leike +1
A Bayesian player acting in an infinite multi-player game learns to predict the other players' strategies if his prior assigns positive probability to their play (or contains a gra…
Formalizing Embeddedness Failures in Universal Artificial Intelligence
Cole Wyeth, Marcus Hutter
We rigorously discuss the commonly asserted failures of the AIXI reinforcement learning agent as a model of embedded agency. We attempt to formalize these failure modes and prove t…
Lossless data compression by large models
Ziguang Li, Chao Huang, Xuliang Wang +7
Modern data compression methods are slowly reaching their limits after 80 years of research, millions of papers, and wide range of applications. Yet, the extravagant 6G communicati…
