Collective neutrino oscillations in non-spherical geometry
Basudeb Dasgupta, Amol Dighe, Alessandro Mirizzi +1
The rich phenomenology of collective neutrino oscillations has been studied only in one-dimensional or spherically symmetric systems. Motivated by the non-spherical example of coal…
Effect of Collective Flavor Oscillations on the Diffuse Supernova Neutrino Background
Sovan Chakraborty, Sandhya Choubey, Basudeb Dasgupta +1
Collective flavor oscillations driven by neutrino-neutrino self interaction inside core-collapse supernovae have now been shown to bring drastic changes in the resultant neutrino f…
Identifying neutrino mass hierarchy at extremely small theta(13) through Earth matter effects in a supernova signal
Basudeb Dasgupta, Amol Dighe, Alessandro Mirizzi
Collective neutrino flavor transformations deep inside a supernova are sensitive to the neutrino mass hierarchy even at extremely small values of theta(13). Exploiting this effect,…
Spectral split in prompt supernova neutrino burst: Analytic three-flavor treatment
B. Dasgupta, A. Dighe, A. Mirizzi +1
The prompt nu_e burst from a core-collapse supernova (SN) is subject to both matter-induced flavor conversions and strong neutrino-neutrino refractive effects. For the lowest-mass…
