Parameter Estimation in Adaptive Control of Time-Varying Systems Under a Range of Excitation Conditions
Joseph E. Gaudio, Anuradha M. Annaswamy, Eugene Lavretsky +1
This paper presents a new parameter estimation algorithm for the adaptive control of a class of time-varying plants. The main feature of this algorithm is a matrix of time-varying…
Adaptive Flight Control in the Presence of Limits on Magnitude and Rate
Joseph E. Gaudio, Anuradha M. Annaswamy, Michael A. Bolender +1
Input constraints as well as parametric uncertainties must be accounted for in the design of safe control systems. This paper presents an adaptive controller for multiple-input-mul…
Connections Between Adaptive Control and Optimization in Machine Learning
Joseph E. Gaudio, Travis E. Gibson, Anuradha M. Annaswamy +2
This paper demonstrates many immediate connections between adaptive control and optimization methods commonly employed in machine learning. Starting from common output error formul…
Provably Correct Learning Algorithms in the Presence of Time-Varying Features Using a Variational Perspective
Joseph E. Gaudio, Travis E. Gibson, Anuradha M. Annaswamy +1
Features in machine learning problems are often time-varying and may be related to outputs in an algebraic or dynamical manner. The dynamic nature of these machine learning problem…
