Detection of CO Hotspots Associated with Young Clusters in the Southern Starburst Galaxy NGC 1365
Kazushi Sakamoto, Paul T. P. Ho, Rui-Qing Mao +2
We have used the Submillimeter Array for the first interferometric CO imaging toward the starburst-Seyfert nucleus of the southern barred spiral galaxy NGC 1365, which is one of th…
SMA CO(J=3-2) interferometric observations of the central region of M51
S. Matsushita, K. Sakamoto, C. -Y. Kuo +9
We present the first interferometric CO(J=3-2) observations (beam size of 3.9"x1.6" or 160pc x 65pc) with the Submillimeter Array (SMA) toward the center of the Seyfert 2 galaxy M5…
Molecular Gas and Star Formation in Lynds 870
R. Q. Mao, J. Yang, C. Henkel +1
We present molecular line and submillimeter dust continuum observations of the Lynds 870 cloud in the vicinity of IRAS 20231+3440. Two submillimeter cores, SMM1 and SMM2, are ident…
Dense gas in nearby galaxies XIII. CO submillimeter line emission from the starburst galaxy M82
R. Q. Mao, C. Henkel, A. Schulz +5
12CO 1-0,2-1,4-3,7-6, and 13CO 1-0, 2-1, and 3-2 line was mapped with angular resolutions of 13" - 22" toward the nuclear region of starburst galaxy M82. The difference of lobe spa…
