Constraining the mass of the M31 ionized baryon Halo using CHIME/FRB Catalog 2
Lordrick A. Kahinga, J. Xavier Prochaska, Sunil Simha +21
The circumgalactic medium (CGM) surrounding galaxies is believed to be a significant reservoir of baryons, yet its total mass remains poorly constrained. We present a novel approac…
Constraining Gas Mass Fractions in Galaxy Groups and Clusters with the First CHIME/FRB Outrigger
Adam E. Lanman, Sunil Simha, Kiyoshi W. Masui +16
In recent years, localized fast radio bursts (FRBs) have emerged as a powerful tool to study the structure of the baryonic matter in the universe. Their dispersion measures (DMs) s…
Statistical association between the candidate repeating FRB 20200320A and a galaxy group
Masoud Rafiei-Ravandi, Kendrick M. Smith, D. Michilli +17
We present results from angular cross-correlations between select samples of CHIME/FRB repeaters and galaxies in three photometric galaxy surveys, which have shown correlations wit…
An FRB Sent Me a DM: Constraining the Electron Column of the Milky Way Halo with Fast Radio Burst Dispersion Measures from CHIME/FRB
Amanda M. Cook, Mohit Bhardwaj, B. M. Gaensler +25
The CHIME/FRB project has detected hundreds of fast radio bursts (FRBs), providing an unparalleled population to probe statistically the foreground media that they illuminate. One…
