Confirming the Quiescent Galaxy Population out to : A Stacking Analysis of Mid-, Far-Infrared and Radio Data
Allison W. S. Man, Thomas R. Greve, Sune Toft +15
We present stringent constraints on the average mid-, far-infrared and radio emissions of 14200 quiescent galaxies (QGs), identified out to in the COSMOS field via thei…
Resolving the Discrepancy of Galaxy Merger Fraction Measurements at z ~ 0 - 3
Allison W. S. Man, Andrew W. Zirm, Sune Toft
We measure the merger fraction of massive galaxies using the UltraVISTA/COSMOS -band selected catalog, complemented with the deeper, higher resolution 3DHST+CANDELS catalog sel…
Sub-millimeter galaxies as progenitors of compact quiescent galaxies
S. Toft, V. Smolcic, B. Magnelli +16
Three billion years after the big bang (at redshift z=2), half of the most massive galaxies were already old, quiescent systems with little to no residual star formation and extrem…
SDSS1133: An Unusually Persistent Transient in a Nearby Dwarf Galaxy
Michael Koss, Laura Blecha, Richard Mushotzky +12
While performing a survey to detect recoiling supermassive black holes, we have identified an unusual source having a projected offset of 800 pc from a nearby dwarf galaxy. The obj…
