The LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey - II. First data release
T. W. Shimwell, C. Tasse, M. J. Hardcastle +104
The LOFAR Two-metre Sky Survey (LoTSS) is an ongoing sensitive, high-resolution 120-168MHz survey of the entire northern sky for which observations are now 20% complete. We present…
The case for gravitational millilensing in the multiply--imaged quasar B1152+199
Saghar Asadi, Erik Zackrisson, Eskil Varenius +3
Previous Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI) observations of the quasar B1152+199 at 5GHz has revealed two images of a strongly lensed jet with seemingly discordant morphologi…
A dust-enshrouded tidal disruption event with a resolved radio jet in a galaxy merger
S. Mattila, M. Pérez-Torres, A. Efstathiou +33
Tidal disruption events (TDEs) are transient flares produced when a star is ripped apart by the gravitational field of a supermassive black hole (SMBH). We have observed a transien…
Sub-arcsecond imaging of Arp\,299-A at 150 MHz with LOFAR: Evidence for a starburst-driven outflow
Naím Ramírez-Olivencia, Eskil Varenius, Miguel Pérez-Torres +8
We report on the first sub-arcsecond (0.44 0.41 arcsec) angular resolution image at 150 MHz of the A-nucleus in the Luminous Infrared Galaxy Arp299, from Inter…
