Abstract

The vortex transport entropy in the mixed state of the cuprate superconductors YBa $_{2}$ Cu $_{3}$ O $_{7 - δ}$ and Bi $_{2}$ Sr $_{2}$ CaCu $_{2}$ O $_{8 + x}$ at the maximum Nernst or Ettingshausen signal below $T_{c}$ is discussed. The vortex transport entropy per CuO $_{2}$ double layer in the cuprate epitaxial films is found to be close to the Boltzmann constant.
