Superfluidity and Space-Time Translation Symmetry Breaking
arXiv:1308.5949 · doi:10.1103/PhysRevLett.111.250402
Abstract
I present a simple model that exhibits a temporal analogue of superconducting crystalline (LOFF) ordering. I sketch designs for minimally dissipative AC circuits, all based on time translation symmetry () invariant dynamics, exploiting weak links (Josephson effects). These systems violate spontaneously. I also discuss effective theories of that phenomenon, and space-time generalizations.
