The average exponent of elliptic curves modulo

arXiv:1206.5929

Abstract

Let be an elliptic curve defined over . For a prime of good reduction for , denote by the exponent of the reduction of modulo . Under GRH, we prove that there is a constant such that for all , where the implied constant depends on at most. When has complex multiplication, the same asymptotic formula with a weaker error term is established unconditionally. These improve some recent results of Freiberg and Kurlberg.
