Nonlinear Photoemission for Bright Beams in X-Band Photoinjectors
Casey Timms, Lucas Malin, Kevin Eckrosh +15
The ongoing development of low-cost and compact x-ray light sources is vital for increasing the number of experiments that can be performed at the atomic scale. One option for a co…
Systematic Collapse of the Accretion Disc Across the Supermassive Black Hole Population
Scott Hagen, Chris Done, John D. Silverman +7
The structure of the accretion flow onto supermassive black holes (SMBH) is not well understood. Standard disc models match to zeroth order in predicting substantial energy dissipa…
Hybrid Epsilon-Near-Zero Modes of Photonic Gap Antennas
Ashutosh Patri, Kévin G. Cognée, David M. Myers +3
We demonstrate that in photonic gap antennas composed of an epsilon-near-zero (ENZ) layer embedded within a high-index dielectric, hybrid modes emerge from the strong coupling betw…
Photonic Gap Antennas Based on High Index-Contrast Slot-Waveguides
Ashutosh Patri, Kévin G. Cognée, Louis Haeberlé +3
Optical antennas made of low-loss dielectrics have several advantages over plasmonic antennas, including high radiative quantum efficiency, negligible heating and excellent photost…
