Broadband Quasi-Periodic Radio and X-ray Pulsations in a Solar Flare
G. D. Fleishman, T. S. Bastian, D. E. Gary
We describe microwave and hard X-ray observations of strong quasiperiodic pulsations from the GOES X1.3 solar flare on 15 June 2003. The radio observations were made jointly by the…
Mid- and far-infrared fine-structure line sensitivities to hypothetical variability of the fine-structure constant
M. G. Kozlov, S. G. Porsev, S. A. Levshakov +2
Sensitivity coefficients to temporal variation of the fine-structure constant alpha for transitions between the fine-structure (FS) sub-levels of the ground states of C I, Si I, S…
Cosmic dynamics in the era of Extremely Large Telescopes
J. Liske, A. Grazian, E. Vanzella +24
The redshifts of all cosmologically distant sources are expected to experience a small, systematic drift as a function of time due to the evolution of the Universe's expansion rate…
Model X-ray Spectra of Magnetic Neutron Stars with Hydrogen Atmospheres
Wynn C. G. Ho, Alexander Y. Potekhin, Gilles Chabrier
We construct partially ionized hydrogen atmosphere models for magnetized neutron stars in radiative equilibrium with fixed surface fields between B=10^12 and 2x10^13 G and effectiv…
