Bias-Variance Trade-off and Model Selection for Proton Radius Extractions
Douglas W. Higinbotham, Pablo Giuliani, Randall E. McClellan +2
Intuitively, a scientist might assume that a more complex regression model will necessarily yield a better predictive model of experimental data. Herein, we disprove this notion in…
Lepton angular distributions of fixed-target Drell-Yan experiments in perturbative QCD and a geometric approach
Wen-Chen Chang, Randall Evan McClellan, Jen-Chieh Peng +1
The lepton angular distributions of the Drell-Yan process in fixed-target experiments are investigated by NLO and NNLO perturbative QCD. We present the calculated angular parameter…
First Measurement of the Ar Cross Section at Jefferson Lab
H. Dai, M. Murphy, V. Pandey +55
The success of the ambitious programs of both long- and short-baseline neutrino-oscillation experiments employing liquid-argon time-projection chambers will greatly rely on the pre…
On the Rotational Invariance and Non-Invariance of Lepton Angular Distributions in Drell-Yan and Quarkonium Production
Jen-Chieh Peng, Daniel Boer, Wen-Chen Chang +2
Several rotational invariant quantities for the lepton angular distributions in Drell-Yan and quarkonium production were derived several years ago, allowing the comparison between…
