Elliptical accretion disk as a model for tidal disruption events
Fukun Liu, Chunyang Cao, Marek A. Abramowicz +3
Elliptical accretion disk models for tidal disruption events (TDEs) have been recently proposed and independently developed by two groups. Although these two models are characteriz…
Measuring black hole masses from tidal disruption events and testing the relation
Z. Q. Zhou, F. K. Liu, S. Komossa +4
Liu and collaborators recently proposed an elliptical accretion disk model for tidal disruption events (TDEs). They showed that the accretion disks of optical/UV TDEs are large and…
A large accretion disk of extreme eccentricity in the TDE ASASSN-14li
R. Cao, F. K. Liu, Z. Q. Zhou +2
In the canonical model for tidal disruption events (TDEs), the stellar debris circularizes quickly to form an accretion disk of size about twice the orbital pericenter of the star.…
Disk origin of broad optical emission lines of the TDE candidate PTF09djl
F. K. Liu, Z. Q. Zhou, R. Cao +2
An otherwise dormant supermassive black hole (SMBH) in a galactic nucleus flares up when it tidally disrupts a star passing by. Most of the tidal disruption events (TDEs) and candi…
