Exploring the connection between Fast Radio Bursts and binary neutron star mergers
Barbara Patricelli, Maria Grazia Bernardini, Cecilia Sgalletta +1
Fast Radio Bursts (FRBs) are highly energetic radio sources whose duration is of the order of milliseconds. The physical origin of these sources is still unknown. Many models sugge…
First Gamma-Ray Burst Observations with SVOM
F. Daigne, D. Turpin, J. -L. Atteia +34
Following its launch on 22 June 2024, the Space-based multi-band astronomical Variable Objects Monitor (SVOM) successfully completed its flight acceptance, commissioning, and scien…
The unpolarized macronova associated with the gravitational wave event GW170817
S. Covino, K. Wiersema, Y. Z. Fan +37
The merger of two dense stellar remnants including at least one neutron star (NS) is predicted to produce gravitational waves (GWs) and short duration gamma ray bursts (GRBs). In t…
A universal scaling for short and long gamma-ray bursts: E_{X,iso}-E_{gamma,iso}-E_{pk}
M. G. Bernardini, R. Margutti, E. Zaninoni +1
The comprehensive statistical analysis of Swift X-ray light-curves, collecting data from six years of operation, revealed the existence of a universal scaling among the isotropic e…
