Precise Localization of the Soft Gamma Repeater SGR 1627-41 and the Anomalous X-ray Pulsar AXP 1E1841-045 with Chandra
S. Wachter, S. Patel, C. Kouveliotou +7
We present precise localizations of AXP 1E1841-045 and SGR 1627-41 with Chandra. We obtained new infrared observations of SGR 1627-41 and reanalyzed archival observations of AXP 1E…
Revealing the X-ray emission processes of old rotation-powered pulsars: XMM-Newton Observations of PSR B0950+08,PSR B0823+26 and PSR J2043+2740
Werner Becker, Martin C. Weisskopf, Allyn F. Tennant +4
We have completed part of a program to study the X-ray emission properties of old rotation-powered pulsars with XMM-Newton in order to probe and identify the origin of their X-radi…
A multi-wavelength search for a counterpart of the unidentified gamma-ray source 3EG J2020+4017 (2CG078+2)
Werner Becker, Martin C. Weisskopf, Zaven Arzoumanian +8
In search of the counterpart to the brightest unidentified gamma-ray source 3EG J2020+4017 we report on new X-ray and radio observations of the gamma-Cygni field with the Chandra X…
Geminga: a tale of two tails, and much more
P. A. Caraveo, G. F. Bignami, A. De Luca +5
We report on the deep (100 ksec) XMM-Newton/EPIC observation of the field of the Geminga pulsar. The unprecedented throughput of the instrument allowed to detect two elongated para…
