Profiling Near-Surface Winds on Mars Using Attitude Data from Mars 2020 Ingenuity
Brian Jackson, Lori Fenton, Travis Brown +8
We used attitude data from the Mars Ingenuity helicopter with a simple steady-state model to estimate windspeeds and directions at altitudes of 3 meters up to 24 meters, the first…
Distribution and habitability of (meta)stable brines on present-day Mars
Edgard G. Rivera-Valentín, Vincent F. Chevrier, Alejandro Soto +1
Special Regions on Mars are defined as environments able to host liquid water that meets certain temperature and water activity requirements that allow known terrestrial organisms…
Constraining the potential liquid water environment at Gale crater, Mars
Edgard G. Rivera-Valentín, Raina V. Gough, Vincent F. Chevrier +3
The Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) Rover Environmental Monitoring Station (REMS) has now made continuous in-situ meteorological measurements for several martian years at Gale crater…
Retrieval of Water Vapor Column Abundance and Aerosol Properties from ChemCam Passive Sky Spectroscopy
Timothy H. McConnochie, Michael D. Smith, Michael J. Wolff +15
We derive water vapor column abundances and aerosol properties from Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) ChemCam passive mode observations of scattered sky light. Each ChemCam passive sky…
