Parametric study on ion acceleration from the interaction of ultra-high intensity laser pulses with near-critical density gas targets
V. Ospina-Bohórquez, A. Debayle, J. J. Santos +2
We present a parametric study based on 1-D particle-in-cell (PIC) simulations conducted with the objective of understanding the interaction of intense lasers with near-critical non…
Guided Electromagnetic Discharge Pulses Driven by Short Intense Laser Pulses: Characterisation and Modelling
M. Ehret, M. Bailly-Grandvaux, Ph. Korneev +13
Strong electromagnetic pulses (EMP) are generated from intense laser interactions with solid-density targets, and can be guided by the target geometry, specifically through conduct…
X-ray imaging and radiation transport effects on cylindrical implosions
G. Pérez-Callejo, M. Bailly-Grandvaux, R. Florido +9
Magnetization of inertial confinement implosions is a promising means of improving their performance, owing to the potential reduction of energy losses within the target and mitiga…
A cylindrical implosion platform for the study of highly magnetized plasmas at LMJ
G. Pérez-Callejo, C. Vlachos, C. A. Walsh +27
Investigating the potential benefits of the use of magnetic fields in Inertial Confinement Fusion (ICF) experiments has given rise to new experimental platforms like the Magnetized…
