Sub-Jupiter Gas Giants Orbiting Giant Stars Uncovered using a Bayesian Framework
J. S. Jenkins, M. I. Jones, J. I. Vines +6
Giant stars have been shown to be rich hunting grounds for those aiming to detect giant planets orbiting beyond ~0.5 AU. Here we present two planetary systems around bright giant s…
An Ultra-Hot Neptune in the Neptune desert
James S. Jenkins, Matías R. Díaz, Nicolás T. Kurtovic +81
About one out of 200 Sun-like stars has a planet with an orbital period shorter than one day: an ultra-short-period planet (Sanchis-ojeda et al. 2014; Winn et al. 2018). All of the…
Mass determinations of the three mini-Neptunes transiting TOI-125
L. D. Nielsen, D. Gandolfi, D. J. Armstrong +77
The Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, TESS, is currently carrying out an all-sky search for small planets transiting bright stars. In the first year of the TESS survey, steady…
The Pan-Pacific Planet Search VII: The most eccentric planet orbiting a giant star
Robert A. Wittenmyer, M. I. Jones, Jonathan Horner +9
Radial velocity observations from three instruments reveal the presence of a 4 M_jup planet candidate orbiting the K giant HD 76920. HD 76920b has an orbital eccentricity of 0.856$…
