The Gaia-ESO Survey: Separating disk chemical substructures with cluster models
A. Rojas-Arriagada, A. Recio-Blanco, P. de Laverny +24
(Abridged) Recent spectroscopic surveys have begun to explore the Galactic disk system outside the solar neighborhood on the basis of large data samples. In this way, they provide…
The Gaia-ESO Survey: New constraints on the Galactic disc velocity dispersion and its chemical dependencies
G. Guiglion, A. Recio-Blanco, P. de Laverny +27
Understanding the history and the evolution of the Milky Way disc is one of the main goals of modern astrophysics. We study the velocity dispersion behaviour of Galactic disc stars…
The Gaia-ESO Survey: Characterisation of the [alpha/Fe] sequences in the Milky Way discs
G. Kordopatis, R. F. G. Wyse, G. Gilmore +30
We investigate, using the Gaia-ESO Survey internal Data-Release 2, the properties of the double sequence of the Milky Way discs (defined chemically as the high-alpha and low-alpha…
Gaia FGK benchmark stars: abundances of alpha and iron-peak elements
P. Jofré, U. Heiter, C. Soubiran +26
In the current era of large spectroscopic surveys of the Milky Way, reference stars for calibrating astrophysical parameters and chemical abundances are of paramount importance. We…
