In-person human interaction relies on our spatial perception of each other and our surroundings. Current remote communication tools partially address each of these aspects. Video c…
Towards Cross-Surface Immersion Using Low Cost Multi-Sensory Output Cues to Support Proxemics and Kinesics Across Heterogeneous Systems
Rajiv Khadka, James Money, Amy Banic
Collaboration in immersive systems can be achieved by using an immersive display system (i.e. CAVE and Head-Mounted Display), but how do we communicate immersion cross-surface for…
Low-cost Augmented Reality prototype for controlling network devices
Anh Nguyen, Amy Banic
With the evolution of mobile devices, and smart-phones in particular, comes the ability to create new experiences that enhance the way we see, interact, and manipulate objects, wit…
3DTouch: A wearable 3D input device with an optical sensor and a 9-DOF inertial measurement unit
Anh Nguyen, Amy Banic
We present 3DTouch, a novel 3D wearable input device worn on the fingertip for 3D manipulation tasks. 3DTouch is designed to fill the missing gap of a 3D input device that is self-…
