The Line Emission Terahertz Observatory (LETO): Exploring the lifecycle of the ISM and the origins of water
Dimitra Rigopoulou, Peter Roelfsema, William Grainger +13
The Interstellar Medium (ISM) is the reservoir of baryonic matter from which stars and planetary systems are formed. It is also the repository of the material that is expelled at t…
Fabrication and characterization of Nb/Al-AlN /Nb superconducting tunnel junctions
Alexey Pavolotsky, François Joint, Udupa Sujit Manjunatha +6
We report a Nb/Al-AlN /Nb superconducting tunnel junction process in which the AlN barrier is formed by plasma nitridation using a compact microwave electron-cyclotron-resonance (E…
3D-Structured Polyethylene Windows for Low-Loss Transmission in Wideband Cryogenic Terahertz Systems
François Joint, Igor Lapkin, Pierre-Baptiste Vigneron +10
We present the design, fabrication, and characterisation of a broadband vacuum window and infrared filter based on ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) for millimeter…
SEPIA - a new single pixel receiver at the APEX Telescope
V. Belitsky, I. Lapkin, M. Fredrixon +31
Context: We describe the new SEPIA (Swedish-ESO PI Instrument for APEX) receiver, which was designed and built by the Group for Advanced Receiver Development (GARD), at Onsala Spac…
