Brown measure and iterates of the Aluthge transform for some operators arising from measurable actions
Ken Dykema, Hanne Schultz
We consider the Aluthge transform of a Hilbert space operator , where is the polar decomposition of . We prove that the map that sends to i…
Hyperinvariant subspaces for some B-circular operators
Ken Dykema
We show that if A is a Hilbert-space operator, then the set of all projections onto hyperinvariant subspaces of A, which is contained in the von Neumann algebra vN(A) that is gener…
Manifold structure of spaces of spherical tight frames
Ken Dykema, Nate Strawn
We consider the space F^E_{k,n} of all spherical tight frames of k vectors in real or complex n--dimensional Hilbert space E^n, i.e. E=R or E=C, and its orbit space G^E_{k,n}=F^E_{…
Ellipsoidal tight frames and projection decompositions of operators
Ken Dykema, Dan Freeman, Keri Kornelson +3
We prove the existence of tight frames whose elements lie on an arbitrary ellipsoidal surface within a real or complex separable Hilbert space H, and we analyze the set of attainab…
DT-operators and decomposability of Voiculescu's circular operator
Ken Dykema, Uffe Haagerup
The DT-operators are introduced, one for every pair (μ,c) consisting of a compactly supported Borel probability measure μon the complex plane and a constant c>0. These are operator…
