Learning Embedding of 3D models with Quadric Loss
Nitin Agarwal, Sung-eui Yoon, M Gopi
Sharp features such as edges and corners play an important role in the perception of 3D models. In order to capture them better, we propose quadric loss, a point-surface loss funct…
Separating Overlapping Tissue Layers from Microscopy Images
Zahra Montazeri, Gopi M
Manual preparation of tissue slices for microscopy imaging can introduce tissue tears and overlaps. Typically, further digital processing algorithms such as registration and 3D rec…
Geometry Processing of Conventionally Produced Mouse Brain Slice Images
Nitin Agarwal, Xiangmin Xu, Gopi Meenakshisundaram
Brain mapping research in most neuroanatomical laboratories relies on conventional processing techniques, which often introduce histological artifacts such as tissue tears and tiss…
Visualizing Flat Spacetime: Viewing Optical versus Special Relativistic Effects
Don V. Black, M. Gopi, F. Wessel +2
A simple visual representation of Minkowski spacetime appropriate for a student with a background in geometry and algebra is presented. Minkowski spacetime can be modeled with a Eu…
Single-Strip Triangulation of Manifolds with Arbitrary Topology
M. Gopi, David Eppstein
Triangle strips have been widely used for efficient rendering. It is NP-complete to test whether a given triangulated model can be represented as a single triangle strip, so many h…
