Solutions to the overdetermined boundary problem for semilinear equations with position-dependent nonlinearities
Miguel Dominguez-Vazquez, Alberto Enciso, Daniel Peralta-Salas
We show that a wide range of overdetermined boundary problems for semilinear equations with position-dependent nonlinearities admits nontrivial solutions. The result holds true bot…
Approximation theorems for parabolic equations and movement of local hot spots
Alberto Enciso, M. Ángeles García-Ferrero, Daniel Peralta-Salas
We prove a global approximation theorem for a general parabolic operator , which asserts that if satisfies the equation in a spacetime region $Ω\subset \mathbb{R}^{n+…
When do knots in light stay knotted?
Hridesh Kedia, Daniel Peralta-Salas, William TM Irvine
An initially knotted light field will stay knotted if it satisfies a set of nonlinear, geometric constraints, i.e. the null conditions, for all space-time. However, the question of…
The Biot-Savart operator of a bounded domain
Alberto Enciso, Maria de los Angeles Garcia-Ferrero, Daniel Peralta-Salas
We construct the analog of the Biot-Savart integral for bounded domains. Specifically, we show that the velocity field of an incompressible fluid with tangency boundary conditions…
