Observational Evidence of an Internal Shock Collision in the Relativistic Jet of the Nearby Radio Galaxy 3C 111
Kenzo Kawamura, Motoki Kino, Mareki Honma +21
We report 10 epochs of 22 GHz East Asia To Italy: Nearly Global VLBI (EATING VLBI) observations of the nearby radio galaxy 3C~111 obtained from 2020 to 2023. Combined with VLBA dat…
RadioAstron space-VLBI imaging of the jet in M87: II. The parsec-scale structure at 4.8 GHz
Evgeniya V. Kravchenko, Tuomas Savolainen, Alexey S. Nikonov +9
We present RadioAstron observations of the M87 jet obtained on 2014 February 4-5 at 4.8 GHz ( cm). The correlated signals between the 10-m space antenna and ground-based rad…
Broadband multiwavelength properties of the archetypal blazar 3C 279 during the 2017 Event Horizon Telescope campaign
G. Principe, J. C. Algaba, E. Aviano +529
The archetypal blazar 3C 279 hosts a prominent relativistic jet and exhibits strong broadband variability across the electromagnetic spectrum. In April 2017, the Event Horizon Tele…
Unique Science Opportunities for Space VLBI Systems with the SKA Telescopes
Y. Y. Kovalev, G. Bruni, T. An +17
To date, two dedicated Space Very Long Baseline Interferometry (SVLBI) missions, the VLBI Space Observatory Programme (VSOP) and RadioAstron, have provided groundbreaking insights…
