Contextual Abductive Reasoning with Side-Effects
Luís Moniz Pereira, Emmanuelle-Anna Dietz, Steffen Hölldobler
The belief bias effect is a phenomenon which occurs when we think that we judge an argument based on our reasoning, but are actually influenced by our beliefs and prior knowledge.…
FluCaP: A Heuristic Search Planner for First-Order MDPs
S. Hoelldobler, E. Karabaev, O. Skvortsova
We present a heuristic search algorithm for solving first-order Markov Decision Processes (FOMDPs). Our approach combines first-order state abstraction that avoids evaluating state…
The Integration of Connectionism and First-Order Knowledge Representation and Reasoning as a Challenge for Artificial Intelligence
Sebastian Bader, Pascal Hitzler, Steffen Hoelldobler
Intelligent systems based on first-order logic on the one hand, and on artificial neural networks (also called connectionist systems) on the other, differ substantially. It would b…
BDD-based reasoning in the fluent calculus - first results
Steffen Hoelldobler, Hans-Peter Stoerr
The paper reports on first preliminary results and insights gained in a project aiming at implementing the fluent calculus using methods and techniques based on binary decision dia…
