Testing magnetically confined wind shock models for Beta Cep using XMM-Newton and Chandra phase-resolved X-ray observations
F. Favata, C. Neiner, P. Testa +2
(abridged) We have performed a set of phase-resolved X-ray observations of the magnetic B star Beta Cep, for which theoretical models predict the presence of a confined wind emitti…
Differential rotation on both components of the pre main-sequence binary system HD 155555
N. J. Dunstone, G. A. J. Hussain, A. Collier Cameron +5
We present the first measurements of surface differential rotation on a pre-main sequence binary system. Using intensity (Stokes I) and circularly polarised (Stokes V) timeseries s…
The first magnetic maps of a pre-main sequence binary star system - HD 155555
N. J. Dunstone, G. A. J. Hussain, A. Collier Cameron +5
We present the first maps of the surface magnetic fields of a pre-main sequence binary system. Spectropolarimetric observations of the young, 18 Myr, HD 155555 (V824 Ara, G5IV + K0…
Magnetospheric accretion on the T Tauri star BP Tauri
J. F. Donati, M. M. Jardine, S. G. Gregory +15
From observations collected with the ESPaDOnS and NARVAL spectropolarimeters, we report the detection of Zeeman signatures on the classical T Tauri star BP Tau. Circular polarisati…
