On the magnetic fields in voids
Alexander M. Beck, Michal Hanasz, Harald Lesch +2
We study the possible magnetization of cosmic voids by void galaxies. Recently, observations revealed isolated starforming galaxies within the voids. Furthermore, a major fraction…
Synthetic X-ray and radio maps for two different models of Stephan's Quintet
Annette Geng, Alexander M. Beck, Klaus Dolag +4
We present simulations of the compact galaxy group Stephan's Quintet (SQ) including magnetic fields, performed with the N-body/smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) code \textsc{Ga…
A divergence-cleaning scheme for cosmological SPMHD simulations
F. A. Stasyszyn, K. Dolag, A. M. Beck
In magnetohydrodynamics (MHD), the magnetic field is evolved by the induction equation and coupled to the gas dynamics by the Lorentz force. We perform numerical smoothed particle…
Origin of strong magnetic fields in Milky-Way like galactic haloes
Alexander M. Beck, Harald Lesch, Klaus Dolag +3
An analytical model predicting the growth rates, the absolute growth times and the saturation values of the magnetic field strength within galactic haloes is presented. The analyti…
