The VMC survey -- XXXVIII. Proper motion of the Magellanic Bridge
Thomas Schmidt, Maria-Rosa L. Cioni, Florian Niederhofer +14
The Magellanic Clouds are a nearby pair of interacting dwarf galaxies and satellites of the Milky Way. Studying their kinematic properties is essential to understanding their origi…
The VMC survey XXVIII. Improved measurements of the proper motion of the Galactic globular cluster 47 Tucanae
F. Niederhofer, M. -R. L. Cioni, S. Rubele +10
We use deep multi-epoch PSF photometry taken with the Visible and Infrared Survey Telescope for Astronomy (VISTA) to measure and analyze the proper motions of stars within the Gala…
The VMC Survey IV. The LMC star formation history and disk geometry from four VMC tiles
S. Rubele, L. Kerber, L. Girardi +13
We derive the star formation history for several regions of the LMC, using deep near-infrared data from the VISTA near-infrared YJKs survey of the Magellanic system (VMC). The regi…
