Temperature Structure of Four Merging Clusters Obtained with Chandra
M. Markevitch, A. Vikhlinin, P. Mazzotta +1
We present preliminary Chandra results on z=0.2 clusters A665, A2163 and A2218, and a z=0.05 cluster A754. For A754, A665 and A2163, we have derived first high-resolution projected…
A moving cold front in the intergalactic medium of A3667
A. Vikhlinin, M. Markevitch, S. S. Murray
We present results from a Chandra observation of the central region of the galaxy cluster A3667, with emphasis on the prominent sharp X-ray brightness edge spanning 0.5 Mpc near th…
Multi-Frequency Analysis of the New Wide-Separation Gravitational Lens Candidate RX J0921+4529
J. A. Munoz, E. E. Falco, C. S. Kochanek +9
We report the discovery of a new two-image gravitational lens candidate. The system RX J0921+4529 contains two z_s=1.66 quasars separated by 6."93 with an H band magnitude differen…
Evolution of the cluster X-ray luminosity function from the WARPS survey
L. R. Jones, H. Ebeling, C. Scharf +5
The evolution of the X-ray luminosity function of clusters of galaxies has been measured to z=0.85 using over 150 X-ray selected clusters found in the WARPS survey. We find no evid…
