Properties of GRB Host Galaxies
Dieter H. Hartmann, David L. Band
The transients following GRB970228 and GRB970508 showed that these (and probably all) GRBs are cosmological. However, the host galaxies expected to be associated with these and oth…
GRB Repetition Limits from Current BATSE Observations
Jon Hakkila, Charles A. Meegan, Geoffrey N. Pendleton +4
Revised upper limits on gamma-ray burst repetition rates are found using the BATSE 3B and 4B catalogs. A statistical repetition model is assumed in which sources burst at a mean ra…
A Statistical Treatment of the Gamma-Ray Burst "No Host Object" Issue
David Band, Dieter Hartmann
Various burst origin scenarios require a host object in the burst error box or near a well-located position. For example, a host galaxy should be present in the standard cosmologic…
Super-LOTIS: A High-Sensitive Optical Counterpart Search Experiment
H. S. Park, E. Ables, D. L. Band +14
We are constructing a 0.6 meter telescope system to search for early time gamma-ray burst(GRB) optical counterparts. Super-LOTIS (Super-Livermore Optical Transient Imaging System)…
The Locations of Gamma-Ray Bursts Measured by COMPTEL
R. Marc Kippen, James M. Ryan, Alanna Connors +8
The COMPTEL instrument on the Compton Gamma Ray Observatory is used to measure the locations of gamma-ray bursts through direct imaging of MeV photons. In a comprehensive search, w…
