Wirelessly Powered Urban Crowd Sensing over Wearables: Trading Energy for Data
Olga Galinina, Konstantin Mikhaylov, Kaibin Huang +2
In this article, we put forward the mobile crowd sensing paradigm based on ubiquitous wearable devices carried by human users. The key challenge for mass user involvement into pros…
Flexible Dual-Connectivity Spectrum Aggregation for Decoupled Uplink and Downlink Access in 5G Heterogeneous Systems
Maria A. Lema, Enric Pardo, Olga Galinina +2
Maintaining multiple wireless connections is a promising solution to boost capacity in fifth-generation (5G) networks, where user equipment is able to consume radio resources of se…
Demystifying Competition and Cooperation Dynamics of the Aerial mmWave Access Market
Olga Galinina, Leonardo Militano, Sergey Andreev +7
Cellular has always relied on static deployments for providing wireless access. However, even the emerging fifth-generation (5G) networks may face difficulty in supporting the incr…
Analysis of Human-Body Blockage in Urban Millimeter-Wave Cellular Communications
Margarita Gapeyenko, Andrey Samuylov, Mikhail Gerasimenko +7
The use of extremely high frequency (EHF) or millimeter-wave (mmWave) band has attracted significant attention for the next generation wireless access networks. As demonstrated by…
