Direct imaging of an asymmetric debris disk in the HD 106906 planetary system
Paul G. Kalas, Abhijith Rajan, Jason J. Wang +53
We present the first scattered light detections of the HD 106906 debris disk using Gemini/GPI in the infrared and HST/ACS in the optical. HD 106906 is a 13 Myr old F5V star in the…
Astrometric Confirmation and Preliminary Orbital Parameters of the Young Exoplanet 51 Eridani b with the Gemini Planet Imager
Robert J. De Rosa, Eric L. Nielsen, Sarah C. Blunt +47
We present new Gemini Planet Imager observations of the young exoplanet 51 Eridani b which provide further evidence that the companion is physically associated with 51 Eridani. Com…
Discovery and spectroscopy of the young Jovian planet 51 Eri b with the Gemini Planet Imager
B. Macintosh, J. R. Graham, T. Barman +85
Directly detecting thermal emission from young extrasolar planets allows measurement of their atmospheric composition and luminosity, which is influenced by their formation mechani…
Discovery of a Low-Mass Companion to the F7V star HD 984
T. Meshkat, M. Bonnefoy, E. E. Mamajek +8
We report the discovery of a low-mass companion to the nearby (d = 47 pc) F7V star HD 984. The companion is detected 0.19" away from its host star in the L' band with the Apodizing…
