Equivariant K-homology and K-theory for some discrete planar affine groups

Ramon Flores, Sanaz Pooya, Alain Valette

We consider the semi-direct products $G = Z^{2} ⋊ G L_{2} (Z), Z^{2} ⋊ S L_{2} (Z)$ and $Z^{2} ⋊ Γ (2)$ (where $Γ (2)$ is the congruence subgrou…

Higher Kazhdan projections, $ℓ_{2}$ -Betti numbers and Baum-Connes conjectures

Kang Li, Piotr W. Nowak, Sanaz Pooya

We introduce higher-dimensional analogs of Kazhdan projections in matrix algebras over group $C^{*}$ -algebras and Roe algebras. These projections are constructed in the framework of…

K-theory and K-homology of the wreath products of finite with free groups

Sanaz Pooya

Consider the wreath product $Γ = F ≀ F_{n} = ⨁_{F_{n}} F ⋊ F_{n}$ , with $F$ a finite group and $F_{n}$ the free group on $n$ generators. We s…

K-homology and K-theory for the lamplighter groups of finite groups

Ramón Flores, Sanaz Pooya, Alain Valette

Let $F$ be a finite group. We consider the lamplighter group $L = F ≀ Z$ over $F$ . We prove that $L$ has a classifying space for proper actions $E L$ which is a…

K-theory for the $C^{*}$ -algebras of the solvable Baumslag-Solitar groups

Sanaz Pooya, Alain Valette

We provide a new computation of the K-theory of the group $C^{*}$ -algebra of the solvable Baumslag-Solitar group $B S (1, n) (n \neq = 1)$ ; our computation is based on the Pimsner-Voicule…
