The magnetic field and magnetosphere of Plaskett's star: A fundamental shift in our understanding of the system
J. H. Grunhut, G. A. Wade, C. P. Folsom +7
Plaskett's "star" appears to be one of a small number of short-period binary systems known to contain a hot, massive, magnetic star. Building on the 2013 discovery investigation, w…
NU Ori: a hierarchical triple system with a strongly magnetic B-type star
M. Shultz, J. -B. Le Bouquin, Th. Rivinius +13
NU Ori is a massive spectroscopic and visual binary in the Orion Nebula Cluster, with 4 components: Aa, Ab, B, and C. The B0.5 primary (Aa) is one of the most massive B-type stars…
The Magnetic Early B-type Stars I: Magnetometry and Rotation
M. E. Shultz, G. A. Wade, Th. Rivinius +7
The rotational and magnetic properties of many magnetic hot stars are poorly characterized, therefore the MiMeS and BinaMIcS collaborations have collected extensive high-dispersion…
HD 35502: a hierarchical triple system with a magnetic B5IVpe primary
James Sikora, Gregg Wade, David Bohlender +8
We present our analysis of HD~35502 based on high- and medium-resolution spectropolarimetric observations. Our results indicate that the magnetic B5IVsnp star is the primary compon…
