First sodium laser guide star asterism launching platform in China on 1.8m telescope at Gaomeigu Observatory
Rui-Tao Wang, Hong-Yang Li, Lu Feng +13
The application of sodium laser guide star is the key difference between modern adaptive optics system and traditional adaptive optics system. Especially in system like multi-conju…
Photon return on-sky test for by-product Rayleigh plume of sodium laser guide star
Jian Huang, Lu Feng, Kai Jin +2
The sodium laser guide star (sLGS) adaptive optics (AO) system has become an essential component for large ground-based optical/infrared telescope. The performance of the AO system…
Short term minutes-time scale temporal variation statistics of sodium layer dynamics
Lu Feng, Kai Jin, Hong-Yang Li +10
The brightness and height of the sodium laser guide star of adaptive optics could vary significantly due to the temporal dynamics of sodium column density and the mean height of so…
A Sodium laser guide star coupling efficiency measurement method
Feng Lu, Zhi-Xia Shen, Suijian Xue +8
Large telescope's adaptive optics (AO) system requires one or several bright artificial laser guide stars to improve its sky coverage. The recent advent of high power sodium laser…
