Post-coronagraphic tip-tilt sensing for vortex phase masks: the QACITS technique
Elsa Huby, Pierre Baudoz, Dimitri Mawet +1
Small inner working angle coronagraphs, like the vortex phase mask, are essential to exploit the full potential of ground-based telescopes in the context of exoplanet detection and…
Optimized focal and pupil plane masks for vortex coronagraphs on telescopes with obstructed apertures
Garreth J. Ruane, Olivier Absil, Elsa Huby +5
We present methods for optimizing pupil and focal plane optical elements that improve the performance of vortex coronagraphs on telescopes with obstructed or segmented apertures. P…
Lyot-plane phase masks for improved high-contrast imaging with a vortex coronagraph
Garreth J. Ruane, Elsa Huby, Olivier Absil +4
The vortex coronagraph is an optical instrument that precisely removes on-axis starlight allowing for high contrast imaging at small angular separation from the star, thereby provi…
The Subaru Coronagraphic Extreme Adaptive Optics system: enabling high-contrast imaging on solar-system scales
N. Jovanovic, F. Martinache, O. Guyon +35
The Subaru Coronagraphic Extreme Adaptive Optics (SCExAO) instrument is a multipurpose high-contrast imaging platform designed for the discovery and detailed characterization of ex…
