Holographic quantum imaging: reconstructing spatial properties via two-particle interference
Nils Trautmann, Gergely Ferenczi, Sarah Croke +1
Two particle interference phenomena, such as the Hong-Ou-Mandel effect, are a direct manifestation of the nature of the symmetry properties of indistinguishable particles as descri…
Will a decaying atom feel a friction force?
Matthias Sonnleitner, Nils Trautmann, Stephen M. Barnett
We show how a simple calculation leads to the surprising result that an excited two-level atom moving through vacuum sees a tiny friction force of first order in v/c. At first sigh…
Efficient single photon absorption by a trapped moving atom
Nils Trautmann, Gernot Alber, Gerd Leuchs
The influence of the center of mass motion of a trapped two level system on efficient resonant single photon absorption is investigated. It is shown that this absorption process de…
Cooperative quantum electrodynamical processes in an ellipsoidal cavity
Gernot Alber, Nils Trautmann
We investigate spontaneous photon emission and absorption processes of two two-level atoms trapped close to the focal points of an ellipsoidal cavity, thereby taking into account t…
